Beed Lewis Harris, age 69, of Griggsville, IL passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. Beed was born on March 8, 1952 in Pittsfield, IL to Earl and Cleo Fern Harris. He married Wilma Hull and brought three children to the union. He later married Donna Hall and brought two children to the union. Later in his life he married Mary Ann Melton Harris on September 24, 2011 and she survives.

Beed worked various jobs, but was a construction worker by trade. He was a handyman and always loved helping people. Beed loved mushrooming, fishing, hunting squirrels, rabbits and deer. His dogs and cat were his best friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; sons, Beed Jr. (Scott) Lawler of Humble, TX, Jeff Harris of Georgia, Kevin Harris of Georgia, Jamie (Cammie) Harris of Murrayville, IL, and Christopher (Brad Kuntz) Harris of Quincy, IL; stepchildren, Sarena Ellinger of Taylorville, IL, Tabbitha Koester of Kingsport, TN, and Chris Ellinger of Griggsville, IL. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, John (Tammy) Harris of Griggsville, IL, Ginny Smith of Pittsfield, IL, Rita Gant of Pittsfield, IL, Robert (Rhonda) Harris of Pittsfield, IL, Crystal (Greg) Goodfliesh of Raleigh, NC and Connie Bollman of Pittsfield, IL; and grandchildren, Trevor Harris, Brett Harris, Abby Harris, Cody Guthrie, Dakota Harris, Dalton Harris, Macy Harris, Dylan Courier, Jacob Doolin, Kelsey Doolin, Rachel Frazier, Vanessa Frazier, Nevin Prince, Zander Koester, Kayleigh Koester; and great granddaughter, Amiah Prince. Beed is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Cleo Fern Harris and his daughter, Amy Jo Swan Guthrie.

All services will be held privately and cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pike County Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss of Beed. I only met him a few times while yransporting him yo his appointments. He was a very nice man. I know he will be greatly missed. Praying for all of you.

Beed was like a father to me, I'll miss him so much, but I have SO many memories. Gone but will NEVER be forgotten! Love ya BEEDER! ♥️
