Bobby (Bob) J. Hyde, age 80, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at his home. He was born on November 11, 1939 in Griggsville, IL to Loren Hyde, Jr and Agatha Fowler Hyde. He married Marilyn K. Bauer on January 23, 1981 at Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsfield and she survives.

After graduating from Griggsville High School, Bob worked at Pittsfield Shoe Factory and Krighauser Hardware; he then went on to work as parts manager at International Harvester, and in the parts department at Illinois Valley and Cox Farm Equipment. Bob spent 30 years as an agent at Country Companies Insurance and retired from the industry December 2013. He rounded out his career with Pikeland School Unit #10 working as Transportation Director where he was fondly known as “Bus Barn Bob”. He loved fishing and enjoyed buying John boats to repair and resale. His greatest love was field trials with his Beagle hounds and coon hunting. He was also a member of Pikeland Sky Chiefs Model Airplane Club. Bob and his wife, Marilyn showed quarter horses for several years and then raised and showed Reg. Oxford and Dorset sheep, where many friends were made and good times shared when they lived on their farm south of Time for 25 years. Bob enjoyed attending school sporting events and especially enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball in Pittsfield and was proud of teaching his girls how to ski. He especially loved telling stories and trading jokes with friends and always had a very witty reply.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; children, Lori A. Easton of Springfield, IL, Susan K. (Steve) VanStrien of Pittsfield, IL, Melissa J. Hyde of Blanchard, OK, Karen A. (Bill) Hooper of Pearl, IL and W. Clark Moyers of Pleasant Hill, IL; fourteen grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister in law, Donna (Al) Berry; brother in law, Bryan (Lisa) Bauer; uncle, Paul Collins and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents and step-father, George Gerard; daughter, Wendy Burrows; brother, Eddie Hyde; son in law, Kevin Easton; grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

My Sympathy to the Hyde Family. The Hyde and Halpin families spent many fond memories boating on the river together along with others. I went fishing with Bob on a couple of occasions at Pittsfield Lake. Was always a treat to be in Bobs company. I know my dad enjoyed Bob's company too.

So sorry to hear of Bobs passing. So fortunate to have had one of those front yard conversation back a year ago in April covering the days of "being in the band". What a great time because he loved his music.

Bob was a fun guy that always smiled. I remember I college judging at the farm he had a buck I thought was a good Southdown. He laughed and said he would be if he wasn’t an Oxford. I considered him a friend from then on. My condolences to you and your family
