Robert Clifton Oitker, age 79 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born October 23, 1940 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL to Clifton and Esther Belle Hull Oitker.

He graduated from Barry High School and went on to enlist in the United States Air Force in June 1958 and was discharged in June 1962. Robert was an airplane pilot and his great love in life was flying planes, he spent his career flying Lear jets for several companies across the United States. After moving back to Pike County, he loved attending ball games and activities for his great grandchildren.

Robert is survived by sons; Robert (Robin) Oitker and Randy (Penny) Oitker, both of Griggsville, IL; daughter, Vicky (Jerry) Varner of Breckenridge, MI. Grandchildren; MacKenzie (Kyle) Shallenberger, Katelin (Pete) Johnson, Bradyn (Emily) Oitker, Brandi (Chad) Ruzich, Derek (Kendra) Oitker, Marcus (Emily) Clowers and Keegan (Lani) Oitker. Great grandchildren; Rylin Edlen, Oakley and Cash Johnson, Roman and Zion Shallenberger, Tinley and Trey Ruzich, Sadie and Hunter Clowers, Jake and Greta Oitker and Eli Oitker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronnie Oitker and sister Janet Oitker.

A private Celebration of Life for the family will be held at a later date and cremation rites have been accorded. Online condolences may be left to the family at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.

So sorry for your loss. Uncle Bob was so special to me. I loved to hear his stories.

Sorry to here of his passing, I used to go to Barry as a kid every weekend I knew the liters at Ford place my uncle Johnnie pelican worked for them . My cousin sandi and I played with kids. God Bless you and your family
