Walter Lee Sutton, age 69, of Barry, IL passed away Sunday April 26, 2020 at his home. He was born March 1, 1951 in Quincy, IL to Ira Sutton and Frances Schnepf Sutton. He married Carrie Irwin in 1984 and she survives.

Walter graduated from Barry High School and went on to attend Spoon River College in Canton, IL. He started working for Clendenny John Deere in Pleasant Hill, IL as a mechanic. He also ran a gas station in Barry, IL  and for a short time, worked at Electric Wheel in Quincy, IL.  For 20 years he worked for Prince Manufacturing Company in Quincy, IL as a mechanic/operator. In addition to his jobs, Walter also farmed on the family farm all his life until his illness. Walter loved to fish, camp, hunt mushrooms, classic cars, and attending auctions looking for antiques and coins, and Moline tractors- he took pride in maintaining his own equipment. He loved playing with his nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie, his twin sons, Adam and Matthew Sutton, his daughter, Kayla Sutton; his mother in law, Sharon Irwin; brother David Sutton and sister Marilyn (Jim) Behrensmeyer.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Gary Sutton.
Graveside service will be held privately and interment will be at Park Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family. Online condolences may be left to the family at Niebur Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

We share our sympathy with the Sutton family during this difficult time.
It has to especially difficult with all this crazy chaos. But please know
you are all still in our thoughts and prayers. It is so sad and heart breaking
to grieve the loss of a husband and a father but you have family and friends

My prayers are with you Carrie and your family. Walt was always a fun loving guy loved to joke around. Steve, the kids and I had a lot of fun at both stations in Barry that he ran. Lots of hugs to you and the family.
