Margaret L. LaFollette, age 83, of Barry, IL passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.  She was born on January 30, 1937 in Pittsfield, IL to Earl and Gladys Houchins Edwards.  

Margaret graduated from Winchester High School and went on to attend Lincoln Land Community College where she received her Registered Nurse degree.  She worked as a charge nurse in the emergency room in Laughlin, Nevada and worked PRN when she came back home.  Margaret also worked as a flight nurse and travelling nurse in various places including Alaska and Hawaii.  She enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and mushrooming and liked going to “the boat.”  Margaret loved spending time with her family the most.  She was a very sweet, caring, and loving woman.

She is survived by three children, Roger (Kim) Brown of Quincy, IL, Dave (Lori Orr) Brown of Griggsville, IL, and Teresa Hammitt of Barry, IL; eight grandchildren, Josh (Betsy) Brown, Cassie (Cordell Kotalik) Brown, Amanda Brown, Travis Brown, Ryan Brown, Allison Brown, Ashley (Chris) Gunder, and Kayla (Matt) Hill; seventeen great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley ‘Doll’ Price of Tucson, AZ; and two dogs, Daisy May and Cash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Gladys Edwards; two sisters, Betty (Ronnie) Shaw and Mary Smith; and two brothers, Carl Edwards and Ralph Edwards.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Nana im lost not even sure wht to say.....tears just keep falling! I MISS YOU SO MUCH NANA! Tell Grandpa Brown hello & a kiss on the cheek for me & the same wit Aunt Mary.....i cnt wait till were together again! Watch ovr DAD & MY BABY BROTHER/UR FAVORITE GRANDSON RYAN there hurting so bad & Ryan so lost his having to dealing wit this alone & feeling numb...NANA UR HIS BESTFRIEND!!! It was a pleasure for ladd & i to have had the pleasure to meet grandma peg. she was a unique and amazing person. she will truly be missed. may you now go rest with the angels

So sorry for your loss. I worked in the emergency room at Illini hospital in the late 70’s.
Peg was a darn good nurse !
I remember all the doctors felt secure when she worked.
She will be missed.
