Bonnie R. Yelliott, age 67 of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 27, 1952 in Pittsfield, IL to Donald and Leona Smith Boren. Bonnie married Terry Yelliott on June 26, 1970 at the Detroit Christian Church in Detroit, IL and he survives.

Bonnie graduated from East Pike High School in 1970. She married Terry and became a stay at home mom raising her children until they were all in school. Bonnie then started her career in office management at the Pike Press, over the years she also worked for Area Disposal, Corn Belt Bank and JDL. Bonnie finished her working career at Niebur Funeral Home where she played a vital role in the day to day operations of the business.

Bonnie attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsfield as an adult, but was raised in the Detroit Christian Church. Over the years, Bonnie loved to crochet and sew,  making each of her grandchildren blankets. She loved working in her yard and decorating her home and she was meticulous about their appearance. Bonnie always enjoyed her pet squirrels, which she hand-fed and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in her yard. Bonnie and Terry enjoyed flea markets and antiquing together while hitting a nickel machine every now and then. Bonnie always worried about others, quietly; was compassionate and always well put together. Her greatest love was her grandchildren; she enjoyed following and attending all their activities.

She is survived by her husband of 49 ½  years, Terry Yelliott; her children, RaShelle Brown of Pittsfield, IL, Belinda ‘BJ’ Yelliott of Pittsfield, IL and Derek (Jenna) Yelliott of Pittsfield, IL; grandchildren, Lane Yelliott, Kelsey Yelliott, Lucas Yelliott and Presley Brown; sister, Sandra (Don) Butler of Detroit, IL; mother-in-law, Barb Yelliott of Pittsfield, IL; several nieces and nephews and her beloved shih tzu, Gizzy.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Leona Boren and father-in-law, Joe Yelliott.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Interment will follow at West Cemetery in Pittsfield. I am shocked to learn this loss of Bonnie. Sincere sympathy to all your families.

She and I often commented of our "good name". Bonnie was a very pleasant person. I think of her as an exceptional example of courtesy and customer service anytime with anyone.
Always a smile and joy I felt passing the home, especially the front porch.

I am so sorry for her loss to your families as well as any and all who knew her.
God must have needed a really sweet soul. I pray HE blesses you all.

Condolences to the family of Bonnie. I had never met her but had several conversations with her on the phone when she was at Niebur Funeral Home. She was really a nice person and easy to talk to. I had noticed she no longer answered the phone at Nieburs and didn't know why until I saw this obituary. So sorry to hear of her passing.
