Terry Lee Garrett, age 62, of Maywood, MO, formerly of Barry, IL passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at his home.  He was born on February 23, 1957 in Frederick, Maryland to Wayne and Patsy Pendergraft Garrett.  He married Mary Leffers Richmiller on September 23, 2006, and she survives.

While attending school in Barry, Terry worked at a shoe store with his mother and he went on to work as a bricklayer at various places.  He also worked for Motorola, Davis Cleaver, and JM Huber where his wife was his boss.  Terry enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, and having fish fries.  He also liked old cars and riding motorcycles.  Terry loved helping people and he took care of several people’s yards in town.  He was a generous, outgoing, and hardworking man who always managed to stay positive and loved to have a good time.  Terry dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Garrett; his mother, Patsy Garrett of Barry, IL; three sons, Scott Garrett of New Salem, IL, Derrick Garrett of Columbia, MO, and Terry Wayne Garrett of Columbia, MO; three grandchildren, Raylan Garrett, Mackenzie Garrett, and Natiaya Thompson; step daughters, Heather Richmiller and Nicole Tournear, both of Quincy, IL; step grandchildren, David Tournear, Laine Tournear, Isaac Tournear, and Landon Tournear; sisters, Rose Chaplin of Barry, IL, Mara Gross of Granite City, IL, Cora Williams of Chillicothe, IL, and Ines Kelley of Quincy, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Garrett; nephew, Brandon Bainter; and step grandson, Joshua Tournear.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry.  Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the family.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

So sorry to hear about Terry. Haven't seen him for several years. My X Estel Merle and i use to visit with Wayne and family. Sorry for your loss.
