Barb and Family

Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family during this time of profound loss. Eddie was a dear friend. As you know, Eddie was a big part of my life when I was in High School. The Reinhardt garage where we built Eddie’s stock car was like my second home. Eddie and his parents were so kind to me and my brother. Eddie loved fast cars and motorcycles. I didn’t even have a driver’s license when I became friends with Eddie so I was thrilled when Eddie would take me for a ride in his Blue Dodge Charger or a ride on the back of his big black Harley Motorcycle as we flew down the highway.

In my mind’s eye I still see Eddie as a vibrant young man with an easy smile and a mischievous sense of humor. I have many fond memories of our time together racing, hunting and fishing. Eddie wasn’t one to brag about his skill as a stock car driver. He didn’t need to as the results spoke for themselves when he became track champion at the Pittsfield Speedway. Eddie raced against many of the best stock car drivers in the Midwest and came out on top. I am truly thankful to Eddie for that special time in my life.

When you look back and see all the things Eddie did for others, it is fair to say he was truly a Champion on and off the track. I will miss Eddie but he will not be forgotten.
Rest in peace my friend.

How sad. As a small boy I watched him race, he was my boyhood racing hero, I would jump and yell when that 7X car slid around the track in Pittsfield.
