George Edward “Eddie” Howell, age 60, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on November 1, 2019 at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield.  He was born on February 2, 1959 in Pittsfield, IL to George Ray Howell and Violet (Hastings) Howell.

Eddie attended TMH classes in Pittsfield at the Pittsfield Higbee Annex as a young man.  He loved music and participated in Cub Scouts and Special Olympics.  He also won many ribbons in Track and Field events.  Eddie made his home as a resident of Eastside Nursing Center for the past 5 years after the death of his mother.  There, he enjoyed the music and spent most of his day close to the nurses’ desk watching all that went on.  He was very happy and content.  While there, Eddie won the hearts of the staff and many special residents, visitors, and caregivers.

He is survived by a sister, Judy (Howell) Constable; as well as, nieces, nephews, and several great nieces and nephews, Shelly Constable McKee, Angie Constable McEuen, Scott Constable and families, and Bridget Miller, Billy, Brian, and Brad Miller and families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Brenda Myers; and an older brother in infancy, Larry Ray Howell.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Blue River Cemetery in Detroit, IL.  Memorials are suggested to Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund or to the Pike County Special Athletes.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Oh Eddie you are so missed. I loved you dearly. I will always keep you in my heart. We were gonna get married and I would sing here comes the bride big fat and wide you would always laugh.. I am sure your mama was waiting for you with open arms. Fly high George Eddie Barnes fron Carol Ann Howell til we meet again.
