Gary Hinch Sr., 78, of Barry, IL died Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.  He was born July 14, 1941 in Barry to Bethel “Sandy” and Nora “Frances” Gray Hinch. On July 8, 1960 he married Judith “Judy” Morrow in Barry and she survives.

Gary attended Barry Schools and graduated in 1959 from Barry High School. He was a road construction foreman until his retirement in 2004. Gary was an avid waterfowl hunter and spent many memorable duck seasons hunting with friends and family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren who affectionately knew him as Pops or Papa.

In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by his son Gary Jr. (wife Donna), his daughter Nancy (husband John) Schwartz both of Barry; six grandchildren: Garrick (Hailey) Hinch of Camp Point, Tori (Devante) Hinch, Cody (Kati) Hinch and Tera Hinch of Barry, Stacey (Cody) Colgrove of Springdale, AR and Kellie Schwartz of Barry; great-grandchildren: Jace Mixer and Collin Baker of Camp Point and expecting two great-granddaughters in November and February; two sisters: Kathryn (Mike) Newman and Janet (Danny) Treadwell of Barry, two brothers: Bill (Fidella) Hinch of Barry and Roger Hinch of Camp Point and many other relatives survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry with Pastor Kent Hillesland officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Barry Fire Department. The Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is handling the arrangements.

Just heard of Gary's passing and so sorry to hear. His family are in my prayers espically for his son Gary Jr.. A good I was lucky to work with Gary in the early 90's until he retired. I'll always remember his dedication to the work and his wonderful knowledge.

Remembering Gary when I tended bar he would say "give me some of that liquid loud mouth". Great guy
