Donald Gene “Duck” Embree, age 47, of Baylis, IL passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home.  He was born on May 27, 1972 in Pittsfield, IL to Marjorie Reeves Syrkel.  He married Jennifer Butler on November 24, 2014, and she survives.

Donnie was a mechanic who loved and took good care of his customers. He was a doting father and grandfather and loved spending as much time as possible with his family. He enjoyed going to Siloam Springs with his wife and kids. Camping, fishing and playing basketball with the kids were some of his favorite hobbies.

He is survived by his mother, Marjorie; his wife, Jennifer; his children, Donald Embree Jr., Brian Embree, and Abigail Embree, all of Baylis, IL; and stepsons, David Rudinsky and Zachary Mountain; grandson, Rhonin Karter Embree; step grandson, Ashton Rudinsky; brothers, Danny (Pam) Embree of Independence, IL, Jim (Stephanie) Embree of Perry, IL, and Ron Embree of Griggsville, IL; sisters, Daisy (Richard) Rennecker of Kinderhook, IL and Debbie (Tom Mayberry) Embree of Perry, IL.

He was preceded in death by a son, Alex Gene Embree, and his stepfather, Leonard Syrkel.

No funeral services will be held and cremation rites have been accorded. Online condolences may be left to the family at  Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
