Barbara graduated from Huntingdon High School in Pennsylvania.  She went on to work at a mental health hospital for a year before joining the United States Navy, where she served as a Navy WAVE and was awarded WAVE of the Year in 1952.  After her Honorable Discharge from the US Navy, Barbara married Leroy and they started their family.  She later worked at the Work Activity Center in Pittsfield and retired after 25 years of service.  She was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church and part of the Madonna Group.  She was also a member of the Pittsfield American Legion Post #152, the Old Orchard Country Club, and a past member of the Detroit Christian Church.  In earlier years, Barbara enjoyed golfing, working in her yard, and “cutting a rug” with Leroy.  She liked puzzles and reading.  She had the biggest heart for animals, especially her dogs and adopted any animal that came across her doorstep.

She is survived by her sons, Steven (Jennifer) Cox of Pittsfield, IL, Brian (Ann) Cox of Minneapolis, MN, and Joe Cox of Mt. Sterling, IL; a daughter, Kellie (Rob) Capps of St. Charles, IL; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie (Matthew) McNealy of Bethalto, IL, Jason (Grace) Cox of San Francisco, CA, Justin Cox of Brentwood, MO, Amy (Mike) Cox of Minneapolis, MN, Deidre (Bill) Higgins of Pleasant Hill, IL, Clayton Capps of St. Charles, IL, Chad Capps of Orland Park, IL, Ashlee (Bart) Lynam of South Elgin, IL, Zachary Lindsey of Winchester, IL, Dalton Lindsey of Pittsfield, IL, and Braden Lindsey of Pittsfield, IL; eight great grandchildren; a niece, Kathi Masterson of Austin, TX and multiple nieces and nephews through marriage; and her chihuahua, Lilly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Leroy; her parents, Denny and Katherine Mock; brothers, Robert Mock and Thomas Mock; and many beloved pets.

Sending many thoughts and prayers to your family. Barb was a very special lady. Craig remembers many special times coming and hanging out with Brian. We both want to thank Barb for our first Siamese cat "Mau Se Tau" (Cat with blue eyes) He was born 5 days after the rest of the litter and she said the mother had alot of trouble having him, and Barb said he would be a very special cat because he had an extra toe. We had him for 12 years. Keep all the memories in your hearts. Sending your family many hugs.
