Frank H. “Bill” Heavner, 77 of Pearl, Illinois passed away May 31, 2019 at Illini Hospital in Pittsfield, Illinois.  He was born on January 6, 1942 in Pearl, Illinois to Howard and Pauline (Duff) Heavner .  Bill married Carylin Jean Hayn of Kampsville, Illinois on October 27, 1967 in Hillview, Illinois.

Bill farmed his whole life and was still actively farming with his son and grandsons.  He was a very hard working man and got done what needed to be done on the farm.  Bill was a lifelong avid outdoorsmen and he loved and lived to hunt and fish.  If he couldn’t be in the boat or woods he would be in sewing his own nets in the family room.  He loved to garden and always had enough to share what he grew.  Bill also enjoyed hunting and collecting Indian relics.  Bill was an outstanding wood worker building most of their furniture to go in the house he built, also making bedroom outfits for the grandkids and many other pieces that will bring great memories to many.  Bill was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and really enjoyed his Monday night bowling league. He loved to golf and take trips with his good friends to Mississippi.

Bill was a lifetime member of the Pearl Christian Church where he was still very active and had served as a Deacon in the past. He also had served on the Greenpond Cemetery Board, Pearl Township Board, and the  Pearl Fire Protection Board.  Bill also served 20 years on the Pikeland Unit #10 Board of Education.

Above all Bill loved his family the most and would go above and beyond for anyone that was in need.  His orneriness could always bring a laugh and smile to all he came across. He will always be remembered for saying,  “Oh Well” and  “It will be alright”!

He is survived by his loving wife Carylin and their children; Lynn(Bill) Yamnitz of Fieldon, IL., Daniel ( Jody) Heavner of Pearl, IL., Debbie (Art) Veneris of Palestine, Texas, Lisa (Mark) Springer of Pearl, Il., and Karen Gerard of Pearl, Il.. Also Bill considered Jerry Manula of Medora, Il., and Nathan Gerard of Pearl, Il. still part of his family.  Grandchildren surviving are Grant and Lindsey Manula and great grandson Oliver, Bailey and Sam Diacon, Rachel and Annabelle Yamnitz , Dalton, Jess, and Will Heavner, Sam and Sydney Veneris, Lyndsie(Springer) and Levi Rosentreter, Bryttnie Springer, Noah and Kaylin Gerard.  Also survived by his siblings, Bud and Beverly Heavner, Bob and Dorothy Heavner, Janet Edwards, Judith Schlereth, Donald “Bud” and Louise Patton along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bill loved all his dogs but “Bea” and “Barny” still survive.
Bill was preceded in death by his Parents Howard and Pauline Heavner, and a daughter in  infancy, Samantha Jean, a sister Jeanie Patton and 2 brothers-in-law Kenneth Edwards and Walter Gene Schlereth.

My Uncle Bill was my closest ally as I grew up. He always had time for me. We were separated by 14 years, but he didn't seem to care. I learned about the birds and the bees from him as well as what not to do like firing a 12 gauge shotgun when leaning against an oak tree while supporting my shoulder. He laughed at how gullible I was! He also taught me to play pool. We went to Kampsville to play on Saturday nights a few times. He seemed to have a knack for running the table pretty regularly. Honestly, he almost had to because I was the worst partner and yet he always supported me. When I went into the Army, he helped me understand what I should expect. He loved life. He never spoke badly of anyone, although I'm pretty sure I gave him all the opportunity to do so. I will carry him in my heart forever. Gods Speed Uncle Bill
