Dora May graduated from Pittsfield High School and then began working at Brown Shoe Factory in Pittsfield.  Later she went to work for the Pittsfield Hot Lunch program for 26 years and retired in 1989.  In earlier years, Dora May enjoyed crocheting and latch hook afghans.  She always put in a big garden in her backyard and when she was able, she really loved travelling, especially with her sisters.  She also collected dolls and chicken knick-knacks.  Dora May was proud she was able to stay in her own home and take care of her house.  She loved her family very much, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Elaine (WJ) Kirk of Pittsfield, IL and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Weinant of Springfield, IL; six grandchildren, John (Michele) Weinant of Dawson, IL, Justin (Tabatha) Kirk of Jacksonville, IL, Judson Kirk of Griggsville, IL, Richard (Tasha) Kirk of Griggsville, IL, Eric (Sarah) Weinant of Chatham, IL, and Jaime Weinant of Springfield, IL; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Hull and Nancy (Art) Brackett, both of Griggsville, IL; and three sisters-in-law, Dixie Smith, Marilyn Smith and Judy Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Weinant; three sons, Michael Edward Weinant in infancy, Dennis Wayne Weinant, and Roger Allen Weinant; siblings, Dorothy Smith, Gladys Chaney, Margaret Richards, Betty Crump, Mildred Smith, David Smith, Harold Smith, George Smith, Jr, and Herschel Smith.
