Nora Gertrude Hobbs, age 94, of Pittsfield, IL died Tuesday morning, February 5, 2019 at her daughter and son-in-law's residence.  She was born on March 8, 1924 in Pittsfield, IL, the daughter of Luther I. and Eva Daniel Roberts.

Gertrude graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1942.  After she got married, she joined her husband where he was stationed in the US Marine Corps.  Later, she began working at Brown Shoe Company until it closed, then worked at Ben Franklin.  Gertrude retired to take care of her father.  She was always busy raising four girls and enjoyed attending all of the events they were involved in.  Gertrude also attended Pittsfield United Methodist Church and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

She is survived by her daughters, Patti (Jeff) McCartney of Pittsfield, IL, Susan Capps of St. Charles, IL, and Peggy (Ken) Kimble of Brooklyn Park, MN; seven grandchildren, Britini Deeder of Pittsfield, IL, Nichole (Roger II) Liehr of Baylis, IL, Ashlee (Bart) Lynam of South Elgin, IL, Chad (Kait) Capps of Orland Park, IL, Brett (Wendy) Gerger of Chatham, IL, Erik (Lisa) Kimble of ND, and Stephanie (Michael) Whitehead of KY; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lynn Gerger; two sisters, Kate (Bill) Smithers and Freida (Marlin) Cory; one brother, Gerald (Helen) Roberts; and two nephews, Gary Cory and Greg Smithers.

No services will be held.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Shriners Hospital.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
