Music by The Piano Brothers

Michael James McCoy, Jr, age 40, went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2018 in Chicago, IL, where he resided and worked.  He was born on April 8, 1978 in Dallas County, TX, a son of Sharon Branham and Michael James McCoy, Sr., and they both preceded him in death.

Michael grew up as a young boy and young man with a deep love for being outside and staying busy.  He enjoyed a good BBQ, fishing, swimming, mushrooming, and hiking the hills from the Illinois River to the Mississippi River.  At a young age, he achieved Life Scout in the Boy Scouts.  He was once certified in Food Service Sanitation.  He was an ASE Certified Automobile Technician, and he was a maintenance technician in Chicago.

As an independent young man in his early twenties, he chose to work a lot of what he once said “crazy” jobs.  His proudest and most thrill seeking job was travelling all over the country from the east to the west coast, building and climbing towers.  He felt free to be so far above the world in those towers, not a care in the wind, just by himself, closer to Heaven.  Michael always chose to live by chance, to excel in everything he put his mind to, either to win or to learn.  He was loyal, dependable, the perfect mixture of sweetheart and warrior.  He worked hard, loved even harder and will be impossible to forget by everyone that ever shared a moment of his life with him.

He is survived by his step parents, Alan and Cheryl Presley; brothers, Jeremy Presley, Adam (Michelle) Droege, Aaron Presley, and Zac Davis; sisters, Leighanne (Jason) Pressey, Heather Rodhouse, Jenny Presley, and Lindsey Davis; also several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials are suggested to Boy Scout Troup 152 c/o CNB Pittsfield (643 W Washington St., Pittsfield, IL  62363).  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Charitable donations may be made in Michael's memory to the following organization:

Boy Scout Troop 152 c/o CNB Pittsfield
643 W Washington St, Pittsfield, IL 62363
