Lorie B. Miller, age 58, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at her home.  She was born on May 29, 1960 in Kiowa, Kansas to Michael David and Lea Mae Duncan Brueggemann.  She married Tony Sturgeon in Oklahoma on October 22, 1982, and from that marriage came three daughters.

Lorie worked at various places throughout her life, but her calling was working as a caregiver.  She volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for many years and also was a substitute teacher.  She was an excellent baker, known especially for her bread pudding, but everything she made was great.  Lorie loved decorating for holidays, and always threw the best birthday parties.  She became ‘mom’ to all of her daughter’s friends, and she never failed to make people feel special.  Lorie’s hugs were always full of love and she was beautiful inside and out, as well as strong and victorious.  She loved her family very much.

Lorie began attending the Pike County Crossing in 2015, where she surrendered herself to Christ and was baptized in 2017.  Despite the fact that sickness had taken over her life, she never questioned her faith and took every opportunity to share the Word of God.

Those left to cherish her memories are her three daughters, Terri Lynn (Justin) Lucas of Billings, OK, Christina Mae (Jamie) Reel of Pittsfield, IL, and Tenessa Renee (Seth) Taylor of Griggsville, IL; grandchildren, Brianna, Kirk, Alexander, Athan, Marlee, Mason, Rynlee, and Ryott; and her siblings, Merritt (Sandy) Brueggemann, Lenvil (Laura) Brueggemann, and Michelle (Monte) Sisson, all living in Oklahoma.

Those gone before her are her parents, Michael and Lea Brueggemann; her first love, Tony Sturgeon; and her sister, Leanna Brueggemann.

There will be a worship service to celebrate the life of Lori at the Pike County Crossing (28842 State Hwy 107, Griggsville, IL 62340) on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 6:00 PM.  Memorials are to be made to The Crossing for the Wreck the Roof initiative (for more information, go to www.wrecktheroof.org).
