Richard Eugene Kindle, 72 of Pittsfield, Illinois passed away Sunday September 23, 2018 at his home.  Richard was born July 14, 1946 in Milton, Illinois to William J. and Dollie Ann Ward Kindle.  Richard married the love of his life, Kathryn Daniels on October 4,  1969 at the First Baptist Church in Pittsfield by the Reverend J.W. Guthrie and she survives.

Richard graduated from the Milton High School and went on to join the U.S. Navy from 1965-1970. Richard served during the Vietnam War and received several medals for his service.  Richard continued to serve his country  by volunteering for the local VFW and Legion.  After returning home in 1970, he went to work for Reginald Campbell as a farmhand for 21 years.  Richard then went to work for Callendar Construction as a foreman at the Thomas Quarry, retiring after 30 years. Richard attended the Pittsfield First Christian Church.  He was also a member of the Local VFW Post #9513 and the Pittsfield American Legion Post #152.

In his spare time Richard did a lot of tinkering,  he could fix anything from construction to mechanical.  He enjoyed riding his Trike Motorcycle.  But what he loved most in life was his family.  His family  was his prized possession and he especially loved his grandsons.

Richard is survived by his wife Kathy; his son Darren (Julie Borrowman) Kindle of Pittsfield; two grandsons, Cody(Shannon) Kindle of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jarrett Kindle of Lemoore, California; two brothers Ralph Kindle of Pittsfield and Bill(Sherawn) Kindle of Milton; four sisters; Alice Norton of Pittsfield; Kay Church of Pittsfield Deborah(Loyd) Walston of Pittsfield, and Linda (Ricky) Gress of Griggsville; father-in-law Robert Daniels and the entire Daniels family.
Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents;  one son Richard Douglas Kindle, one sister Margaret White; two brothers Robert and Lenard; one nephew Jason Gress and his mother-in-law Rosa Daniels.

Services will be held Wednesday September 26, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  There will be a visitation on Tuesday September 25, 2018 from 4pm -7pm.  Burial will be at the Greenpond Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Pittsfield American Legion Post #152; Great River Honor Flight; or to the family.  Online condolences may be let to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

We are so saddened by your loss! It’s such a difficult time when we have to let go of those that we love so much! We will always cherish the time that he spent at Shannon & Cody’s wedding. We love you & wish we could be there to comfort you during this difficult time.
