Sherrill K. Brown, age 62, of Baylis, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Illini Community Hospital surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 3, 1956 in Pittsfield, IL to Alvin and Patricia Hull Baxter.  She married John Brown Sr. in 1974, and he survives.

Sherrill attended Pittsfield High School and was a housewife, raising her four children.  She enjoyed playing games and working on crossword puzzles.  She collected knick knacks and was a huge Elvis Presley fan.  Sherrill loved her Chihuahuas, especially Precious.  Family meant everything to her, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Brown Sr.;  sons, John (Christina) Brown Jr. of Hannibal, MO, Michael (Julie) Brown of Griggsville, IL, Timothy (Stacey) Brown of Baylis, IL, and Thomas Brown of Baylis, IL; seven grandchildren, Robert Brown, Bryan Brown, Ethan Brown, Ashley Brown, Austin Brown, Mirranda Brown, and Jennifer (Joe) Wolfe; two great grandchildren, Ava and Ayden Wolfe; siblings, Donald (Anna) Baxter of Bethany, IL, Chris (Hugh) Reynolds of Pittsfield, IL, Brenda (Robert) Adams of Barry, IL, and Gloria (Les) Castleberry of New Salem, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Raymond and Mary Baxter, and Don and Josephine Hull; and siblings, Sharon Baxter in infancy and Earl Baxter in 2003.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will follow the service at Gray Cemetery.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the family.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
