Marshall Lee Allen, 59, of Griggsville, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield.  He was born on November 14, 1958 in Pittsfield, IL  to Keith and Irma Jean Landess Allen.  He married Karen Sue Bonds on December 31, 1981 in their home in Milton, and she preceded him in death on December 8, 2015.

Marshall graduated from East Pike High School in 1977.  He worked at Dot Foods in Mt. Sterling, and enjoyed farming.  Marshall loved his music.  He especially enjoyed wood working, cabinetry,  and designing home projects.  Family was very important to him, as well as the time spent with them.

He is survived by his son, David (Patricia) Bess of Hattiesburg, MS; his daughter, Crystal Lynn (Ryan) Molohon of Springfield, IL; brothers, Mike (Andrea) Allen of Milton, IL and Mark (Cindy) Allen of Pittsfield, IL; grandchildren, Jonathan Hack of Edwardsville, IL, Madeline Bess Parkhurst of Poulsbo, WA, Samantha Bess of Tacoma, WA, and Kaitlyn Bess and Isaac Bess of Hattiesburg, MS; one niece, three nephews, three great nieces, and seven great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen; and one brother, Matthew Ray Allen in 2000.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 with Eric Kirgan officiating at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will be at Greenpond Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Crystal’s Army or Greenpond Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left to the family at  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Sorry for your loss, sending prayers and thinking of the family. Marshall was a great man. He will be missed by many. Work won't be the same without him.

Sorry to hear of Marshall passing. We only knew him through work, but from what we knew of Marshall he was a good guy.
We will miss him deeply!

Dear Allen family,
My deepest sympathy to you. I am your cousin. Daughter of Evelyn Allen Maguire who passed July 10th at age 97. Rubey Allen brother to my grandfather Floyd Leslie Allen. Evelyn's obituary is published just before Marshalls..We have lived 3 miles south of Milton many years.
