Lester Eugene Brown, 76, of Barry, IL passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Barry Community Care Center in Barry.  He was born on January 17, 1942 to Dale and Mary Young Brown in Hull, IL.

Lester began serving in the United States Army in 1959, and was honorably discharged in 1961.  He went on to work as a truck driver for most of his life, working for Norvin Lumley before owning and operating his own truck until his retirement.  Lester loved fishing and camping.  He also really enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his companion, Trena Mason; two sons, Robert (Marsha) Brown of Barry, IL and Eric (Mindy) Brown of Odessa, MO; four daughters, Lori Heimer of Nebo, IL, Sandy Howland of Pittsfield, IL,  Michelle (Jeremy) Para of New Canton, IL, and Leslie Brown of Barry, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Misty Young, Cory Howland, Jessica Howland, Billy Heimer Jr., Stephanie Heimer, Adam Heimer, Jacob Heimer, Kimberly Heimer, Presley Brown, Joselyn Brown, Peyton Kuntz, Jordan Para, Hope Para, Terrick Swartz, and Lemi Kendall; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Paul (Sandra) Brown of Barry, IL, Ed (Kay) Brown of Barry, IL, and Owen (Angie) Brown of Weslaco, TX; one sister, Elsie (Steve) Neese of Quincy, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no funeral services.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is assisting the family.

I’m so sorry to hear of Lester’s passing. He was so very loved by his family. He will be deeply missed. It was a privilege and a honor to of been trusted to care for him in his last hours. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
