Eleanor Iretta Ransom Wilson, 95, of Daytona Beach, FL, formerly of Nebo, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her residence.  She was born on March 23, 1923 in Nebo, IL to Harry and Letticia Renoud Ransom.  She married Oscar Wilson and he preceded her in death.

Eleanor was raised in a beautiful home in Nebo and graduated from Nebo High School.  She then went to live in St. Louis, MO and worked in administration at the Government Records facility there.  After meeting and marrying Oscar, they traveled the world, as he was a soldier and military veteran with 34 years of service.  Eleanor was a great mother and military wife and was always active with the church, where she taught Sunday School and was the President of the Christian Women of the Chapel.  Her volunteer work was astonishing.  Eleanor was also quite talented at singing and was singing the day before she passed away.  Her stories of her history in Illinois were very entertaining.  Eleanor was very close to her great granddaughter, Abigayle and her grandson, Daniel, who always made sure she had her ice cream daily.  She will be missed and remembered as the most cheerful and dignified of them all.

She is survived by two children, William L. Wilson and Mary Ann Wilson; grandchildren, Shane Daniels, Robert Wilson, and Rebecca Ann Wilson; and great granddaughter, Abigayle Daniels.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Wilson; and her parents.
