Janice S. Spaits, 68, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her residence.  She was born on March 16, 1950 in Pittsfield, IL to Lyle & Geneva Pennock Wheeler.  Janice married William Spaits on September 27, 1968 in Bloomington, IL.

Janice worked 25 years as a Buyer and Account Executive in the Ready Wear industry.  After that, she worked 6 years as a Part Owner and Co-Founder of Spearhead Home Medical.  Janice was a member of Victory Church in Amarillo, TX and participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  She enjoyed food and cooking.  Mostly, Janice loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, William Spaits of Amarillo, TX; her mother, Geneva Wheeler of Amarillo, TX; two sons, William (Debbie) Spaits of Parker, CO and Jason (Teresa) Spaits of Greenville, MO; a daughter, Bethany Depew of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Christopher (Bethany) Jenkins, Kendra Jenkins, Marissa Jenkins, Joshua Spaits, Matthew Spaits, and Meghan Spaits; great grandchildren, Hayden Jenkins, Hannah Jenkins, Jayce Jenkins, and Kyler Jenkins; and two brothers, James (Debbie) Wheeler of Downs, IL and Phil (Patty) Wheeler of San Tan Valley, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery near Detroit.  There will be a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Bethel Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
