Marjorie E. Bissell, 88, of Louisiana, MO passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana.  She was born on February 12, 1930 in Milton, IL to Floyd and Ruth Johnson Johnston.  She married Harold Bissell on July 3, 1948 in Milton, IL at the Christian Church and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2011.

Marjorie worked at Brown Shoe in Pittsfield, IL and Vincennes, IN, as well as in Brookfield, MO and Versailles, MO.  In 1972, she and her husband began operating a Sears Store.  Marjorie later worked at McDonald's in Quincy, where she really enjoyed the customers. She was a member of Green Pond Church and in her spare time, she loved yard work, especially mowing and gardening.  

She is survived by a son, Mike Bissell of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; a sister, Mary (Don) Ince of Louisiana, MO; and a brother, Dean Johnston of Quincy, IL.  And also surviving is a sister-in-law, Ona Day Johnston of Pittsfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; a son, Larry Bissell; her parents; and a brother, Harold Johnston.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will be at a later date.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Blessing Hospice.  Online condolences may be left to the family at  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
