Mary Lou Chaplin, 84, of Griggsville, IL passed away at her residence on Sunday, January 21, 2018.  She was born on June 24, 1933 in Baylis, IL to Charles and Edna Coyle Aiken.  Mary Lou was married for 62 years to Andy Chaplin and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2014.

In earlier years while living in Utah, Mary Lou worked as a bank teller.  She and Andy also owned and operated a taxidermy shop.  In 1984, they moved back to the area and Mary Lou drove a truck over the road for Mercer Trucking Company with her husband for many years.  She also received the one million mile perfect driving award while truck driving, which she was very proud of.  Mary Lou was a member of the Magna Mount Riders for 20 years, enjoying riding horses in the mountains and canyons.  She also liked painting and doing puzzles and loved hunting, fishing, and trap hunting with her husband.  Mary Lou and Andy were partners and always enjoyed doing everything together.

She is survived by three sons, Randy (Beulah) Chaplin of Griggsville, Rick (Elly) Chaplin of Erda, Utah, and Ron Chaplin of Tooele, Utah; a daughter, Candy (Ronnie) Pace of West Valley City, Utah; twelve grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and a sister, Wava (John) Grisham of Pittsfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andy; and four brothers, Jim, Curtis, Paul, and Fred Aiken.

There will be a visitation on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will be private.  Memorials are suggested to the Griggsville American Legion.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
