Mary Belle Johnson, 82, of Pittsfield passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at her home.  She was born on November 22, 1934 in Carterville, IL to Howard and Flonnie Dollar Deck.  She married Donald Johnson in Alton in 1963 and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2015.

Mary was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Pittsfield, where she accepted Christ into her heart.  In her early years, Mary had worked at the glass factory in Alton, IL for a time, and then was a homemaker for many years while she raised her children.  In 1967, she and her husband moved to Colorado.  She took a job at Rose Terrace Nursing Home in 1987, working as Activity Director for over 20 years until her retirement.  She really enjoyed working there. Mary also met her very best friend, Louise Diaz, while working there, whom she remained best friends with her whole life.  After Mary retired, she and Donald moved to Atwood, Kansas and they enjoyed many years of retirement together.  Mary was self taught on the computer and loved to make many kinds of greeting cards for people, as well as making other crafts.  She and Donald enjoyed traveling together and took many trips around the country.  She also liked country music and gatherings with her family.  She particularly liked spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, William David (Pam) Little of Pearl, Mark Anthony (Tina) Little of White Hall, and Michael David (Dena) Johnson of Davenport, FL; four daughters, Valarie Jean (Dave) Jones of Pittsfield, Terry Jean (Mark) Wathen of Evansville, IN, Donna Renee (Kenny) Johnson of Winston, MO, and Twyla Denise (Shawn) Johnson of Golden, CO; two brothers, Harold Alonzo Deck of Williamsville, IL and Dennis Wayne King of Springfield, IL; a sister-in-law, Jean Silcott of Atwood, KS; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; a sister, Shirley; son-in-law, Don Callahan; one brother-in-law, Richard Silcott; a sister-in-law, Twyla King; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Emil and Alvina Johnson; and a great niece, Natasha Renee Flanagan.

No services are planned at this time, however, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date and her ashes will be interred at Fairmont Cemetery in Denver, CO.  Memorials are suggested to Grace Baptist Church in Pittsfield.  Online condolences may be left at  Niebur Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Auntie M Was A Great Lady ,Who Always Kept You Laughing My Love Goes Out Too All My Cousins And There Spouses ,Will Always Have Her In My Heart <3 ,Will Miss Her So Much ..RIP AUNTIE M , You Are Now With The Lord ..I Will Always Remember you as a Great Aunt And Person ....

Mary Belle was one of my favorite cousins. She was a beautiful person who could make you laugh a mile a minute! I will miss her deeply. Much love to the rest of the family and prayers for comfort and peace.
