Music by The Piano Brothers

Rosalie Davis, 84, formally of Pittsfield, left this world in the early morning hours on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Heritage Healthcare in Jacksonville, IL.  She was born on December 21, 1932 to her parents, Logan and Madalene Baldwin Weaver, at home on a farm near Nebo, IL.  She married Richard Davis on July 1, 1953 and he survives.

Rosalie was a graduate of Nebo High School.  She furthered her education by obtaining a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse in August of 1970.  She spent her career working at health care facilities in Pike County, IL and in Louisiana, MO.  Rosalie was a faithful member of the Pittsfield Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school for over 40 years and sang in the choir.  She loved music and had a beautiful voice, which she shared with her church and community.  She enjoyed travel and took many wonderful vacations with her husband and family.  She also enjoyed reading and doing crafts and loved to use vivid colors.  But her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with the love of her life, husband Richard, and her children and grandchildren.  She delighted in their accomplishments and spent many hours watching their ballgames, plays and concerts.  She never met a stranger and often opened her generous heart to help others.  She was a woman of strong faith who will be sorely missed by her family and her church.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Davis; three children, Ronda (Richard) Foster, Roseann Haven, and Kent (Tasha) Davis; six grandchildren, Brady and Rebecca Foster, Graham Haven, and Madalene, Gabrielle and Mason Davis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers and two sisters, who died in infancy and a son-in-law, Patrick Haven.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Pittsfield Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Greg McClain officiating.  Burial will follow at the Nebo Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Memorials are suggested to the Pittsfield Church of the Nazarene or Memorial Home Hospice.  Online condolences may be left at  Niebur Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Smithy, Rhonda, RoseAnn, Kent and families,

I am very sorry to learn about Rosalie. Rosalie was the sweetest, kindest, and most generous woman one could ever know.

She was very good to Mom. Rosalie had a beautiful voice like no other and she used it as a gift to others. I am honored to have known her. Thinking of all of you at this time.

No doubt she and Mom are already having a long chat and catching up.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and send my condolences. This is one of the hardest times in a family's life, always know that others care. Most important God cares. He has promised a time when he will "swallow up death forever and he will wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) Praying for your family, and praying you will find comfort in this promise.
