Wilma Eileen Fry, age 86, of Pittsfield, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at Eastside Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Wilma was born July 26, 1931 in Tallula, Illinois to Charles 'Hiram' and Anna M. Carstenjohannas Cassen.  She was married to Earl Fry on February 24, 1953 and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2010.

Wilma grew up working on the family farm in Cass County, Illinois and attended Circleville School, a rural school in Cass County.  After she married Earl, she helped her husband farm near Petersburg, Illinois then later in the New Canton area for many years until they retired in 1995.  Wilma loved music.  She learned to play guitar as a young teenager and continued playing throughout her life.  She also enjoyed sewing and was a great seamstress making many clothes for the family through the years.  Wilma enjoyed reading, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She passed her music talent onto her son Phil and where ever he was playing, she was always there to watch.  She was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church and had attended the New Canton Methodist Church for many years before moving to Pittsfield.

Wilma is survived by her son, Phillip Fry (Jeanette Mefford) of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Amy (Jim) Auriene of Moberly, MO and Wayne Fry of Morristown, TN; two great grandchildren, Abigail Auriene and Victoria Fry, and one niece, Carolyn (Roger) Reimer of Petersburg, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl; one brother, Harold G. Cassen; and also a sister, Francis Maddox.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Pastor Tom Wilbur officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, September 11, 2017 at the funeral home.  Burial will be at West Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Pike County Ambulance.
