Lafayette "Tad" Scoggins, 20 of Pittsfield passed away April 18, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.  Tad was born on July 15, 1996 in Pittsfield, the son of Lafayette "Tug" Scoggins, Jr. and Sandra K. Piper Steward.  

Tad had worked at Scoggins rentals while living with his uncle Tony in Kansas.  As a youngster Tad enjoyed playing little league baseball.  During his high school years Tad loved playing the trumpet in the school band and participating in track and football.  He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, tinkering on cars, loved to go boating and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved giving bear hugs and dearly loved his niece Neveah.  

He is survived by his mother, Sandy Steward and his father and step mother, Lafayette "Tug" and Tammy Scoggins all of Griggsville; a niece, Neveah Leverich; grandparents, Tad Scoggins and Naomi Steward both of Pittsfield; a brother, Dylan Piper of Griggsville; and sisters, Samantha (friend, Kelsey) Scoggins, Bailey, Kaylie and Kelsy Scoggins all of Griggsville.  Aunts and uncles surviving are: Tony Scoggins, Tim (friend, Kim Dennis) Scoggins, Tammy (Nathan) Carter, Nancy Swartz, Amanda (Bill) Johns and Curtis Steward in addition to numerous cousins.

Tad was preceded in death by his grandma Virginia Scoggins and grandpa Curtis Steward.

Visitation with Tad's family will be held be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Niebur Funeral Home.  Interment will be held at a later date in the West Cemetery in Pittsfield.

Memorials are suggested to be made to Tad's family.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  The Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield has been entrusted with the service.
