Granville Rufus ‘Bud’ Capps, age 80 was released from his earthly suffering of dementia on Saturday, June 27, 2020 on hospice care at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Care Center in Pittsfield, IL.

July 20, 1939 he was the firstborn son to Rufus & Lena ‘Margaret’ Tobias Capps on the family farm on Dutch Creek.

Bud farmed the farm near Rockport, IL all his days. He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1957. He married Faye Audrey Stenslie in New Rockford, North Dakota on a crisp fall day October 12, 1963. Together they stood working side by side through joy and sorrows of life on that farm until his death. He always enjoyed working hard, raising his pigs and cattle and helping others in need. He never failed to have a positive smile to share with everyone.

Bud committed his life to God in his teens and remained faithful to that vow. He always encouraged others to just be honest and true in all your dealings in life and then God would help the rest of the way.

He is survived by his faithful wife Faye and an only daughter, Lori Lynn of Rockport, IL. Two special grandsons in his life; Kolby Alan Fox of Kinderhook, IL and Klayton Bradley (Emily) Fox of Winfield, MO; one brother, Donnie Capps of Longmont, CO along  with many close family and friends. Also, he’s leaving behind his faithful four-legged companion Charlie.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Margaret and three siblings in infancy; sister in law, Joanne Haakenson Capps along with many of his close friends in Pike County.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will follow at Samuel Taylor Cemetery near Rockport.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the family or to Two Rivers Jeep Club in collaboration with Pike County Wheelin 4 a Cause PHS Ag Scholarship Fund.  Online condolences may be left at  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
