Franklin Rex Durr 81, of Seattle ,Washington and recently of Barry, Illinois passed away surrounded by friends on April 13, 2021 in Griggsville, Illinois.  He was born April 12, 1940 to Clifford and Opal Durr in Pike County.

From his childhood in Pike County he always sought knowledge and always preferred to know rather than guess. With a bachelor’s from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Washington, he had a varied career that took him from Chicago, Illinois to Washington State where he spent most of his professional career as a financial consultant and CPA. He was married three times- Carol Ann Tallman, Elaine Talbot, Virginia Fay and had no children. Frank was a thoughtful observer - in possession of a dry wit that could pause a room.

He is survived by nephew James A. Evans, nieces Linda M. Evans and Karen E. (Evans) Medina, one step-brother and step-sister, two goddaughters, and special friend Carolyn Dean.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Durr and Opal Margaret (Byrne) Durr, and sister Deloris Mae (Durr) Evans.

No services will be held and cremation rites have been accorded.  Online condolences may be left to the family at  Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.

I was sorry to learn of Frank's death earlier this month.
Frank was normally a quiet person when I was around him but I know his brain was not quiet. I am sure Frank did not spend his free time passively; I am sure Frank spent his free time reading and learning.
Frank researched and tracked Carolyn's farming activites to help achieve best practices. I am sure he researched and studied many other things we will never know of.
Rest in peace, friend.

Our condolences on the loss of your uncle. We enjoyed working on genealogy with Frank on the Durr family for many years. Frank was such an interesting man. Frank’s father was a first cousin to Jim’s mother.
