Richard D. Buskirk, 84, of Griggsville, IL passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, IL.  He was born on December 27, 1933 to Edward and Alta Franklin Buskirk in Quincy, IL.  He married Wilma Pindell on February 22, 1957 and she survives.

After high school, Richard joined the United States Army.  He was Honorably Discharge in 1962 and then began working at Bueters Bakery in Quincy, IL for many years.  He then went on to work as a meat cutter for Oscar Meyer, where he retired from after 16 years.  Richard began selling produce at his home after retirement.  He enjoyed fishing and going to the Drive-In in Griggsville, IL.  Richard also liked to play pinochle.  He dearly loved his dog, Susie and spending time with all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; daughter, Diana (John) Schnepf of Barry, IL; son, Douglas (Marla) Buskirk of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren, Amanda Martin of Pittsfield, Nichole (Josh) Fox of Pittsfield, Leslie (Michael) Fleming of Pittsfield, and JJ (Jessie Duggins) Schnepf of Barry; nine great grandchildren, Dalton (Tamara) Martin, Kortney DeJaynes, Breanna Fox, Austin DeJaynes, Leather Hill, Kale Hill, Emma Fox, Zachary Fleming, and Korbin Fleming; one great grandchild, Ryan Martin; brother, Robert (Sandy) Buskirk of Missouri; sister, Edna Buster of Texas; and his beloved dog, Susie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel Buskirk; and sister, Mary Ann Holder.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will follow at Griggsville Cemetery.  There will be a visitation prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the family.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
