Brady Thomas Edwards, age 9, passed away at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, IL in the evening of Thursday, February 8, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.  Brady was born on October 21, 2008 to Jeffery and Rachel Johns Edwards in Quincy, IL.

Brady was in Mrs. Syrcle's 3rd grade class at Pikeland Community School.  He was a very active and sweet little boy who had many friends and playmates.  He loved playing baseball and football and was a big Seattle Seahawk's fan.  Brady enjoyed working in the garden with his Papa Steve and loved weed eating and mowing the yard with his daddy.  He was always outside playing in the dirt or helping build the clubhouse at home.  Brady liked to draw and also won the Farm and Home coloring contest in Pittsfield.  Even though his mom's favorite root beer was Bargs, Brady thought the best kind was Mug.  Most of all, he loved John Deere tractors and would always say, "if it's red, leave it in the shed."  Brady was such a spirited and loving boy and will be missed by so many.

He is survived by his parents, Jeffery and Rachel Edwards of Pittsfield, as well as his siblings, Austin M. Edwards, Matthew D. Edwards, and Gracie L. Edwards.  Also surviving are his grandparents, Linda Gratton of Pittsfield, Jody Johns of Nebo, and Steve (Dena DeJaynes) Edwards of Pittsfield; great grandparents, Shirley Johns of Nebo, Dave and Gertie Gratton of Pittsfield, and Dwayne Jones of Mississippi; aunts and uncles, Nicole and Tim Ionson of Pittsfield, Stephanie and Chad Ruble of Pittsfield, Daniel and Jenny Adams of Nebo, Chris Edwards of Pittsfield, Brandy (Luke Connors) Edwards of Bowling Green, MO, and Elizabeth Johns of Pearl; and numerous great aunts and uncles and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Misty L. Edwards; great grandma, Sandra K. Jones; and great grandpa, Gene Johns.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Pittsfield Church of the Nazarene with Pastor BJ Thelander and Pastor Greg McClain officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Gray Cemetery near New Salem.  There will be a visitation from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Childrens Hospital.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

My heart hurts for you and your family. I pray for God to be with you in this time of mourning and sorrow. May these prayers help you draw closer to The Lord and find healing for your heart. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" (Matthew 5:4) The Lord will wrap His arms of love around you who trust in him. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort those who are in trouble" (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) "I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, that you sorrow not, as others who have no hope, For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus". (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14). I hope these verses from the bible have brought you comfort. My heart breaks for you and your family. You have our deepest sympathy. Prayers are continuing for you and your family.
