Jerry was very proud that he was a 13 1/2 year veteran of the United States Air Force.  He began his career on December 8, 1978 until he was honorably discharged on June 2, 1992.  During his time in the Air Force, he served as a Materiel Storage and Distribution Supervisor.  Jerry was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans/DAV.

Jerry enjoyed following the St. Louis and Missouri College sports teams.  He loved to read books and collected DVD's.  Jerry liked listening to music and was a sports car buff. Jerry loved the big Macaw birds and his current bird was named Uno.  Jerry tried to live a good law-abiding life and to help people out in their time of need.  He especially loved his sisters and their families, and enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include three sisters, Debra (Jessie Smith) Ward of Holt Summit, MO, Linda (Richie Doyle) Holder, of Nebo, and Janice (Rick Cantwell) Sidwell, of Nebo;  Nieces and Nephews, Lonnie Ward, Julie Holder, James Holder, Jessica Clark, Ricky Sidwell, Angel Cantwell, Damian Cantwell, along with great nieces and nephew, Anna Sidwell, Little Ricky Sidwell, and Riley Miller.  A good friend Scott also survives.

Dear Linda and the rest of family,

Jerry was a great man. We will miss him so much. He always had a joke and a kind word, every time we saw him. We will miss; the "free" candy, showing off his cars, and his ability to always try and make a buck or two.

To all that know Jerry, thank you at this time it means a lot to his family to know he was loved and had friends like you.
I will miss my big brother, he was my friend and big brother. I can remember all the things we use to do as kids. How he was always willing to help me anyway he can. He was a special person in so many ways.
One can not be replaced in my heart.
