Ellen Elizabeth Adrain, 94, of rural Pittsfield passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born on August 23, 1923 in Sterns Hollow to Cornelius and Lena Steinberg Price.  Elizabeth married the love of her life George Adrain, Jr. April 19, 1946 in Pittsfield at the old Methodist Parsonage on Fayette St and he preceded her in death March 11, 2017.

In the early 1940s, Elizabeth started working at Brown Shoe then she met George and became a farmer's wife until he passed.  She and George farmed together, did custom bailing, and lived in the same house he was raised in.  Elizabeth liked to sew and eventually went into painting.  She first started painting concrete then ceramics and went onto saws and china.  She belonged to the China Guild in Quincy and her work can be seen in many area homes.  She loved to work in her yard, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.  She would decorate her yard with many things they found at auctions they attended together.  Elizabeth became quite the collector.  Her family was always her first priority and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie (Patrice) Adrain of Pittsfield; a daughter, Roberta TenEyck of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Stacey (Marcus Zumwalt) Adrain and Tracy (Lauren) Adrain, both of Pittsfield; and great grandson, Austin Adrain.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, George; three brothers, Lee, Robert, and Albert; and a son-in-law, Bill TenEyck.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rodney Prentice officiating.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials are suggested to the Oakwood Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services.
