Marybelle Ward, age 80, formally of Plainville, IL passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry. She was born in Hannibal, MO on November 11, 1936 to Walter and Mildred Wagy Bainter. She married Russell Ward in Pittsfield on September 16, 1956 and they had 60 loving years together and he survives.
She loved to cook and bake and made wonderful chocolate drop cookies and donuts. She also sewed, liked to mow and enjoyed taking care of her flowers. She was a great farm wife and always made sure Russell’s tractors were gassed up and ready when needed. She especially loved spending time with her grandsons and her son.
Marybelle is survived by her husband, a son, Steve (Shirley) Ward of Plainville, two grandchildren; Samuel Ward and Joseph (Allison) Ward both of Plainville. Four great grandchildren; Eliza Gayle Ward, Chazity Jo Ward, Joseph Marten Ward Jr and Brantlee Steel Ward. One brother, Walter “Bubby” (Reba) Bainter of Barry and a sister Betty Martin also of Barry survive along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Eugene Bainter and two sisters, Eileen Bainter Bridgeman and Geraldine Bainbridge. Two brother’s in law; Junior Martin and Johnny Bridgeman and a nephew Buck Bainter.
A visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry.
Inurnment Committal Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Stewart Cemetery in Plainville with Bob Cook officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Family. Niebur Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. On line condolences may be left at nieburfh.com
