LEON F. BROWN, 71, of Quincy, IL, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his residence.  He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 12, 1939. Leon and Donna McDonald were married on May 14, 1959 in Quincy, IL and she preceded him in death on January 26, 2003.

Leon worked at Calcium Carbonate Company in Quincy, IL.  He enjoyed commercial and bank fishing, and watching westerns on TV.

He is survived by his son Leon E. “Ernie” Brown, daughters, Cora (Donald) Powell and Peggy Brown all of Quincy,  one brother, George Brown of Payson, IL, one sister, Lorraine, fourteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Samuel Taylor Cemetery at Rockport, IL with Major Norma Jean Daniels from the Hannibal Salvation Army officiating.  A visitation will be held from 12:30 until 1:30 on Friday, July 23 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.
