Helen L. DeCamp

HELEN L. DECAMP, 69, of Pittsfield, IL, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at her residence.  She was born on January 19, 1941 in Time, IL, a daughter to Robert and Louise Tysinger Davis.  Her first marriage was to Jr. Floyd Hargis and later to James DeCamp on June 29, 1973 in Pittsfield, IL and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2004.

 

Helen worked for numerous years at the Brown Shoe Factory in Pittsfield and as a waitress at the Abe Lincoln Inn in Pittsfield.  She was a charter member of the Full Gospel Church and attended the Pittsfield Assembly of God Church.  She enjoyed singing, playing guitar, jigsaw puzzles and watching Western movies.  She was a NASCAR, Jeff Gordon fan, Cardinal baseball fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

 

She is survived by sons, Lyndle (Carol) DeCamp of Pittsfield, Jamie (Mendy) DeCamp of Pleasant Hill, Billy Hargis of Griggsville, daughter, Alma Hargis of Pittsfield,  grandchildren, Keirra, Blake, Harlee, Eli and Aden DeCamp and great grandchild Dante Kainz.  Stepchildren surviving are Rhonda (Donnie) Branham of Louisiana, MO, Dale (Susan) DeCamp of Louisiana, Mo, Bob (Sandy) DeCamp of Clarksville, MO, Daryl (Audra) DeCamp of Bowling Green, MO and Roger (Randy) Cale of Montrose, IA.  A brother, Larry D. (Elaine) Collins of Pittsfield, a sister, Dollie Neese of Barry, IL and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Two sons, Eddie and Floyd Hargis, a stepson, Ronnie DeCamp and two brothers, Forrest Davis and Wesley Davis preceded Helen in death.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Frances and Eva Sheppard and Rev. Quentin Beard officiating.  Interment will be in the Cresent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, IL.  Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, July 20, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Helen’s family.
