DONALD DUNHAM, 74 of Pittsfield,Il., died Monday (6/15/10) at his home following an extended illness.

Donald was born Feb.18,1936 near New Salem,Il., a son of Glenn and Louise Gerard Dunham. He married Carlene Daniels Feb.20,1954 at the Methodist parsonage in New Salem.

Donald farmed the family farm raising grain and livestock for 30 years then drove for Gully Transportation of Quincy,Il. for 25 years. He retired due to ill health.

He attended the Assembly of God Church in Pittsfield, was a 1953 graduate of Griggsville High School, enjoyed gardening,raising flowers,woodworking and carpentry work and was proud of the log cabin he built in his backyard. He enjoyed dining out and attending country music shows,and attending church services.

Donald served on the Griggsville Board of Education, worked for a short time for the Soil and Water Conservation District, and was a representative for Bear Hybrid Seed Corn Co.

He is survived by his loving wife Carlene, 2 sons, Ronald (wife Tammy) Dunham and Todd (wife Laura) Dunham both of Pittsfield,Il., 3 daughters, Mrs. Diana (Kevin ) Dyer of Pittsfield, Mrs. Kathleen(Steve) Eveland of Centrailia,Mo., and Deborah(Rick) Conrad of Pittsfield.  9 grandchildren and 3 great g.c.

Donald was preceded by a sister Mariam Dell and a brother Paul Dunham.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home with Rev. Quentin Beard officiating. Burial at Gray Cemetery near New Salem.

Friends can call at Niebur’s on Friday from noon until time of services.
