GLENNA L. CLAUS, 92, of Pittsfield, passed away at the Eastside Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Sunday, May 16, 2010.  She was born in New Salem, IL on August 4, 1917, a daughter to Benjamin and Norine Root Maloney.  She married Joe F. Claus in Griggsville, IL on July 27, 1935 and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1988.

Glenna was a graduate of the New Salem High School in 1935.  She was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was very patriotic and enjoyed cleaning her house and doing yard work.  Before residing at Eastside Heatlthcare, she was a resident of the Griggsville Estates and had enjoyed her stay there.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Herb) Long of Pittsfield, four grandchildren, Maria (Monte) Smith of Pittsfield, Tereasa (Steve) Shaw of Pittsfield, Larry (Pat) Casteel of Mt. Sterling, IL and Greg (Magie) Casteel of Bonaire, GA.  Eight great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and a nephew, Dale Masterson of Colorado Springs, CO. also survive.

Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, and sisters, Bernadean Johnson and Mildred Masterson and nephew Bobby Joe Masterson.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the West Cemetery in Pittsfield with Rev. Dave Kelly officiating. Friends are invited to the service.

Memorials are suggested to the Pittsfield West Cemetery Association.
