PAUL E. “SHORTY” McEUEN, 78, of Milton, IL passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.  He was born in Montezuma, IL on March 19, 1932, a son of Jessie A. and Pearl Elliott McEuen.  He married Joan Daughtery on February 12, 1966 in Pittsfield, IL and she survives.

Shorty worked as a farm hand for Wheeler Farms and Springer Farms.  He was a member of the Milton Christian Church and enjoyed mechanic work, visiting with friends in Milton and riding his scooter.

His wife Joan, son Terry (Angela) McEuen of Milton and daughter, Teresa (Steven) Story of Montezuma (Milton), survive him along with eight grandchildren, Brittany (Trent) Brannan, Brandi, Ethan, Colton, Kyle, Brent, Cole, and Levi. A brother, Gene McEuen of Pittsfield and mother-in-law, Rosie Winfield of Milton also survive Shorty.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Johnie McEuen.

Services are being held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Milton Christian Church with Brother Jerry Edison officiating.  Interment will be in the Douglas Cemetery near Milton.  Visitation will be held Monday evening, May 17, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.
