Virginia DeJaynes

Louise Virginia  DeJaynes, 86, of Lee's Summit, MO., formerly of Hull, IL, Hannibal, MO and Baylis, IL, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 3:50 a.m. at Saint-Luke's East - Lee's Summit Hospital from complications following a hip replacement on March 30th.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, April 16, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL. The Rev. Jim Jacques will officiate. Burial will be at Baylis Cemetery in Baylis.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Virginia was born Feb. 10, 1924, in Hull, Illinois. Louise (know as Virginia) was the daughter of Charles L. and Carrie C. (Goellner) Keim. She married George E. Spegal August 31, 1946. She later married Elmer H. DeJaynes August 11, 1962 in New London, Missouri. Her hobbies included baking, sewing, crocheting, and tending to her garden and flowers. Virginia cherished her family and friends, spent many hours crafting gifts, corresponding by mail and visiting by telephone across the Midwest each week.

She is survived by  3 children, Charles Spegal and wife of Huachuca City, AZ, Terry DeJaynes (Cindy) of Lee's Summit, MO, and Melody Syrcle-Brite (Daryl) of Griggsville, IL; 4 stepchildren, Harold DeJaynes of Florence, SC, Michael DeJaynes (Barbara) of Jonesborough, TN, James DeJaynes of Frankfort, IN, and Barbara Baker of Hoopston, IL; 14 grandchildren, Donovan Syrcle of Griggsville, IL, Mick DeJaynes of Kingman, AZ, Gabriel Ordonez of Ohio, Daniel Ruffett of Estes Park, CO, James DeJaynes of Frankfort, IN, Dennis Baker of Hoopston, IL, William Baker of Hoopston, IL, Ryan Day currently serving in the military in Kuwait, Erin Cosentino (Jimmy) of Lee's Summit, MO, and Michael Day of Lee's Summit, MO, Cheyenne Syrcle of Quincy, IL, Madalyn Syrcle of Griggsville, IL, Sheryl Miller of Lafayette, IN, and Kimberly Annaman of Lafayette, IN; 4 Great grandchildren Joshus DeJaynes of Kingman, AZ, Jacob DeJaynes of Kingman, AZ, James Michael Cosentino of Lee's Summit, MO, and Cali Ella Day of Lee's Summit, MO; 1 sister Shirley Hechler of Quincy, IL.

She was preceded in death by her mother Carrie C. Keim, father Charles L. Keim, and stepmother Florence L. Keim of Keokuk, IA; husband Elmer H. DeJaynes of Baylis, IL; a sister, Pauline Hamilton; and a brother, Bernard Keim.

Her charity of choice has always been the Disabled American Veterans or organization of the donor’s choice.
