DOROTHY L. SAPP, 82 of Pittsfield, passed away, Sunday, April 4, 2010 at her residence.  She was born on August 22, 1927 in Atlas, IL, a daughter to Sam and Frieda Stottlemeyer Clift.  Dorothy and Robert Lee Sapp were married on July 12, 1947 in Louisiana, MO and he survives.

Dorothy was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a collector and buyer of primitive antiques, enjoyed flower gardening, knitting where she won an award at the Illinois State Fair, and was an organizer of the Bald Knob Cemetery restoration committee.

She is survived by her husband and two sons, Larry (Lucia) Sapp and Tom (Kathy) Sapp all of Aiken, SC, two grandchildren, a niece, Judyth Jones and nephew Ray Jones both of Marietta, GA.  A sister, Alice Jones, preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Tom Wilber officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 noon until 2 p.m.  Per Dorothy’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Bald Knob Cemetery Restoration c/o Farmers State Bank in Pittsfield.
