Mrs. Margie L. Irick, 84, of Pittsfield, IL., died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Illini Community Hospital, Pittsfield, IL.   She was born on October 5, 1925, in Pittsfield, IL., to Ben and Ada Ward Reed.  She married Clay L. Irick on December 27, 1950, and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1971. 

Mrs. Irick was an elementary school teacher at Pikeland Unit 10, Pittsfield, IL.  She taught the 5^th grade. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan. She was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Pike County Retired Teacher’s Association, and the Pittsfield Book Club.  She loved to travel with her special friend, Keith Dodd.  She enjoyed her cruises and world tour.  

Survivors: One son:  Drew (Janice) Irick of Dallas, TX, and  one sister:  Mrs. Billie (Donald) Smith of Rochester, NY.  

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Clay, and special friend and companion, Keith Dodd.  

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield, IL, with Rev. Tom Wilber officiating. Burial will be at the West Cemetery, Pittsfield, IL.  A lunch will follow the services at the Orr Hall, United Methodist Church, Pittsfield, IL.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, from 5 until 7 pm at the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield, IL.     

Memorials are suggested to the Pittsfield United Methodist Church or the Pikeland School Foundation.
