Janet Raye Rutledge, 66 of Jacksonville and formerly of Pittsfield, passed away Thursday evening, March 11, 2010 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.  Jan was born at Pittsfield, IL on August 24, 1943, a daughter to Raymond and Cathryn Cummings Miller.

Jan was a homemaker and was employed as a nurse at Troy, Mo., Pittsfield, IL and Belton, TX.  She will be remembered for her love of animals, her craftwork and her love and devotion to her grandchildren and family.

Her sons, Tom (Kim) Miller and Mike (Danelle) Rutledge both of Concord, IL and grandchildren, Tyler, Tim, Kaleb, Bailey and Katie, survive her. Brothers, Russell Miller (Cecelia) of Pittsfield and Richard (Betty) Miller of Meredosia along with ten nieces and nephews also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation rites will be accorded per Jan’s wishes.  A family celebration of her life is being planned for this summer.
