Betty M. Lowe, 84, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry, IL.  Betty was born in Pittsfield, IL on November 1, 1926, a daughter to Clay and Fern Clark Browning.  She married Warren “Rock” Lowe on March 3, 1945 in Little Rock, Ark and he preceded her in death in March of 1987.

Betty was a well-known hairdresser in Pittsfield for several years.  She was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church, a member of the Pittsfield American Legion Post #152 Auxiliary and the Pike County Dance Club.  Fishing, yard work and flower gardening was some of Betty’s interests.

Three children are surviving, Dennis (Sharon) Lowe of Pittsfield, Sue (Dan) Boyd of Arthur, IL and Peggy (Mike) Fee of Barry, IL along with seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. One sister, Barbara Hooper of Pittsfield also survives.

Her husband and a brother, Bill Browning, preceded Betty in death.

Services are being held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Tom Wilber officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.  Interment will be in the Pittsfield West Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research, Griggsville Estates or the Barry Community Care Center.
