Lucile Long

Lucile Long, 90, of Pittsfield passed away, Wednesday, February 03, 2010 at the Liberty Village in Pittsfield.  She was born May 17, 1919 in  Pittsfield, IL a daughter to Harry and Alfa Doane Long.     Lucile and Harold Dehart was married  June 15, 1940 and he preceded her in death April, 1987.  She later married Clyde Long February 2, 1988 and he preceded her in death October, 2005. 

Lucile was a bookkeeper for King Feed Mill then worked as a bookkeeper for Zimmerman Brothers for thirty- five years. She was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church, Pittsfield Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, served as worthy matron and secretary, and was a member of the Country Couples Dance Club.  She enjoyed her family, genealogy, needlework, and making jams and jellies.

Surviving are one son, Kay (Marsha) Dehart of Pittsfield and step daughters, Ramona Carr and Betty Ann Ducey of Pittsfield; Mary Frances Wisner of Champaign and Martha Brown of Beardstown.  Four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren survive along with two sisters, Carolyn Casteel of Pittsfield and Dorothy (Emmett) Horton of New Canton.

Lucile was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Long and an infant granddaughter, Teresa. 

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Thomas Wilber officiating.  Interment will be in the Pittsfield West Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., Saturday, February 6 until time of service at the Niebur Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to The Pittsfield United Methodist Church or West Cemetery or Shriners’ Hospital for Children—St. Louis Unit.
