Gwendolyn F. Stilwell, 84, of Pittsfield, Illinois, died Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Illini Community Hospital, Pittsfield, Illinois. She was born on July 6, 1925 to Lloyd and Loretta Ducey Davis.  She married C. Johnson Stilwell on June 1, 1947, at the St. Mary’s Rectory in Pittsfield, Illinois.   Gwen was a District Director for the Department of Agriculture for the Federal Crop Insurance in Pittsfield, Illinois.  She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Alter Society, Community Center Board of Directors, Illini Community Hospital Board of Directors, PTA and Ban Boosters, local ladies Bridge Clubs, Pittsfield Women’s Club, and Pittsfield Dance Club.  She loved traveling to Bill and Peggy’s home wherever he was stationed in the military, going over 50 years to Branson, Missouri for shows and shopping.  She loved her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband, Johnson Stilwell of Pittsfield, IL, a daughter, Mrs. Peggy (William) Durall of Pittsfield, Il, a brother, Jon L. (Joann) Davis of Albuquerque, N.M., grandchildren, Christina (Richard) Miskho of Seattle, WA, and Brian Durall of Springfield, IL, and one great grandson, David. 

Funeral services will be Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pittsfield, Illinois with Father Rodney Schwartz and Gene Stilwell officiating.  Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Pittsfield, Illinois. Friends may call Thursday, January 28, 2010, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  

In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to The Pittsfield Community Center, the Illini Foundation, or Calvary Cemetery.
