Carolynn Ann Robbins

Barry, IL – Carolynn Ann Robbins, 70, of Barry passed away Thursday December 11, 2008 at the Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield.  Carolynn was born June 2, 1938 to Glen S. and Ann Kellum Gilleo in Detroit, Michigan.  She married Gary Robbins July 12, 1980 in Silvis, IL and he survives.

 

            Carolynn worked at John Deere in E. Moline IL in her earlier years.  Later after moving to Barry, she worked numerous jobs locally.  She loved making porcelain dolls and had a shop in Barry called the ‘Valley of the Dolls’.  Carolynn made and painted the antique reproduction dolls, even making the clothing for them.  She traveled to doll shows all over the country and sold them internationally. She also loved gardening and was a member of a local Garden Club.  She loved to cook, and she loved her dogs and had begun to raise Boxer pups until her illness.  Carolynn was a happy and straight forward person who loved life and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

 

            Survivors include her husband Gary, sons Darroll Morris (wife Pamela) of Webberville, MI; Lawrence Morris of Barry; Brian Robbins (wife Renee) of Pittsfield, and a step son Dale Robbins (Wife Terri) of Baylis. 1 Step daughter, Teresa Cole (husband Tim) survives along  with 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. One brother Richard Gilleo of Oak Park MI, survives along with 2 sisters, Alma Gilleo of Grand Rapids MI and Helen Chandler (husband Don) of  Grand Rapids MI      

           

            Funeral services will be held Saturday December 20th at 2:00 P.M. at the Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry with Doctor Greg Maize officiating. Visitation will held from noon until time of services on Saturday.
