Doris McBrian, 83 of Milton, IL passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield.  She was born October 12, 1926 in Montezuma, IL, a daughter to Maggie O. Lane.  She married John McBrian in St. Louis, MO on March 24, 1944 and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1996.

Doris worked at the Brown Shoe Factory in Pittsfield for twenty-nine years.  She was a member of the Pearl Church of Christ and enjoyed life by taking care of friends and neighbors, babysitting her great grandchildren and attending the Pearl Senior Citizen meals.

Surviving is one daughter, Diana Helm of Milton; two grandchildren, Barb (Mark) Ballinger and Tom (Deb) Helm both of Milton.  Two great grandchildren, Michael Phillips and Kerri Ballinger along with two sister-in-laws, Mable Carter of Granite City, IL, Pearl Davis of Belleville, IL, and several cousins also survive.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Bro. Wilson Ramsey officiating.  Interment will be in the Greenpond Cemetery near Pearl.  Visitation will be held Monday evening, December 21 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.

Family suggests that memorials be made to the Pearl Church of Christ or the donor’s choice.
